Being an adult is boring. Our children can’t act like adults, nor should they want to.

Often, when we tell kids ‘no’ or ‘stop’, we’re trying to make them act like adults, especially when we’re in public places.

"Don't touch that, stop walking like that, no you can't make that noise".


PAUSE next time before you set boundaries and decide whether that boundary actually needs to be set. You’ll find you end up having more ‘yes’ moments with your kids and rediscover your inner child. Remember, play is always learning and kids are always playing.

  • My favourite saying is “is it an actual problem or is it my problem?”. My husband and I often reflect on this because it’s often our own problem, usually from our upbringing so we stop and think before we respond
