Behaviour Strategy: Notice & Praise
See the good behaviour and make your child feel good about it.
Why? Because we know from research that it’ll promote more good behaviour and make you both feel happier. It will change your child’s behaviour for the good, way more than any telling-off could ever do. In fact we know that spanking and telling kids off is the worst strategy for behaviour change.
Praise often falls by the wayside because kids get up to so much mischief that all our energy goes into managing that. It means that kids are often hearing directions and corrections, but no praise. Turn that around today by challenging yourself.
Challenge: give your child 10 pieces of genuine praise / feedback during their morning or afternoon.
Let me know how it goes. Share with a parent who’s little one is running rings around them!
