I love making recipes into visual recipes so that August can read them himself with my support.

Visual recipes are a great way to expose your child to text, fostering early literacy. They help your child to understand that text has meaning…that numbers convey quantities…and how to sequence information to reach a conclusion.

When August and I follow the visual recipe together I’m helping him to recognise words with help from the pictures, developing his independence and supporting him to feel confident, competent and successful.
